2004 Great Wall of China Marathon (May 2,2004) SPRING
Opening Ceremony Speech
Thank you all very much for coming to Great Wall of
China Marathon in Beijing today.
After preparing for several years,we started our first Great Wall of China Marathon in 2002 with the great support from Jinshanling,Simatai and many companies from the world.
All our participants in this third Great Wall of China Marathon are composed of two parts:Chinese and overseas athletes,of whom are mostly from Japan.
We are trying our best to promote the Great Wall of China Marathon all over China and throughout the world.We hope this Great Wall of China Marathon can become a ribbon of friendship between Chinese people and the people from around the world.
In 2008,Beijing will hold the Olympic Games,this Great Wall of China Marathon is part of this compaign,we will hold this marathon not just only till 2008,but even more years to come in the future.
We have set up the office of Great Wall of China Marathon in Japan,we will have offices of Great Wall of China Marathon in Europe and America.So that this Great Wall of China Marathon can not only best serve you,but also increase your friendship and direct and wide exchanges with Chinese people,and good for your health.
We are making Great Wall of China Marathon a bright and exciting new culture.

Great Wall of China
Marathon(GWCM)
has achieved a great success on May 2,2004.Once again,we extend our
heartfelt
thanks to all the participants,and also to Nippon Kinki Tourist.
In this marathon,we have got the 78 participants,including the
volunteers.We
also have prepared medical staff and policemen,etc.in this marathon.In
this
event,we first got the support from China Central Television,the No.1
TV
station in China.And now,we have had our professional GWCM video
materials
for the promotion in the overseas markets.
The oldest participants are 74 years old from Japan,and 5
participants are
over 70 years old.The youngest participant is 17 years old.And in this
spring
marathon,we have first had our participants from USA and from South
Korea.
As organizers,in order to fast and best improve our service quality,we
especially
pay our greatest attention to the advices from all sides,and we are
trying
to become the first-class international marathon even in the way of
athletic
approaches.
From this July,we will begin to make promotion in the media in
China,meanwhile,we
will very actively have the wide-range touches and profound exchanges
with
the world media and sponsoring companies outside China.
The coming Great Wall of China Marathon in this beautiful autumn in
Beijing
will bring an extremely surprising, and bright fresh experiences to all
the
participants and to the world.
